April is National Poetry Month, and #LVPI is working on a number of fun & interactive workshops & events that will be happening between April 1st & May 2nd in the southernmost coastal communities of Delaware. These events will be open to the public; all-ages, all skill-levels.
Here is a sneak peek!
Haiku Garden
An outdoor display happening all month long (April 1st through May 2nd).
Haiku Rocks! Workshop
A crash course on Haiku, Haiku Rock painting (like kindness rocks but with haiku instead!) to place in the Haiku Garden.
The Art of Poetry - Ekphrastic Poetry Workshop
Poems written in reaction to art.
Cut-Up Poetry Workshop
Also known as Found Poetry, and Blackout Poetry, create poems using the avant-garde literary technique.
Songwriting Workshop & Collab
Q & A with a diverse panel of songwriting musicians. Then collaborate to write & record a song by the end of the workshop.
These events are meant to observe National Poetry Month, and encourage everyone to celebrate the poetry of everyday life. Lake View Poetry Initiative is dedicated to a mission of community enhancement through creative expression.
