Beginning April 1st, there will be a Haiku Garden at the corner of the new Freeman Foundation office building (at the main entrance of the Bayside community - across from the post office).

Passersby can view nine large stones featuring a selection of modern & traditional haiku, and discover some not-so-well-known facts about this centuries-old and often misunderstood form of poetry.

An additional community haiku rock garden will be set up for rock-painting enthusiasts who would like to contribute a hand-painted haiku rock featuring an original poem, or a favorite by someone else. A Haiku Rocks! workshop will take place on Saturday, April 10th at 2pm.

This temporary installation was created & donated by Lake View Poetry Initiative as party of a #PoetryInPublicPlaces display.
